1 in 3 Massachusetts Families are Food Insecure

The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) completed their 4th annual statewide food access study in 2024.  Once again finding that 1 in 3 families in Massachusetts face food insecurity, including a food insecurity rate of 36% for Essex County. Food insecurity means running out of food or not having enough money to buy food each month. 73% of those surveyed said that high inflation and rising food costs were to blame.  You can read more here:
